Authorities are now validating the whereabouts of two of Vice President Jejomar Binay’s aides including his alleged bagman, who allegedly are already out of the Philippines, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said.
Trillanes said that based on a reliable information he received Gerardo “Gerry” Limlingan, said to be Binay’s “finance manager” and Eduviges “Ebeng” Baloloy, another one of his close aides and long – time secretary, have already fled the country.
“We are validating this while still pursuing other leads,” Trillanes said in a text message.
“They needed to close some accounts or transfer money first before they went totally underground. But definitely VP Binay is hiding them,” added the senator.
The Senate has released an arrest warrant against the two persons for failing to appear in the Senate blue ribbon committee’s investigation into the anomalies involving the Binays.
Trillanes reitrated he believes Binay aided Limlingan and Baloloy and kept them hidden. But he said a team has been formed to track the two aides.
“We already have leads where they could have been brought to…but we won’t say where because they might transfer to another place,” Trillanes said in a radio interview.
Trillanes believes their movements would be limited once the cases against them are filed at the Sandiganbayan.
“Their world would get smaller because eventually their passport would be cancelled,” Trillanes said.
