DOHA: Brookings Doha is preparing to offer internships for qualified Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) students according to a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed recently. The MoU enables Georgetown students to hone policy skills with Brookings Doha and one or more internships per semester for GU-Q students.
The MoU will provide a structure for GU-Q students to apply theories and skills learned in the classroom to policy and research work done at Brookings Doha Center. Students who successfully complete their internship will earn one academic credit toward their Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar degree.
Director of the Brookings Doha Center, Dr Salman Shaikh, said: “The Brookings Doha Center is ever-seeking to expand its local capacity and reach. With this in mind, the BDC is proud to have formalized its long-standing relationship with Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in Qatar.
