Doha: Across Qatar, organisations are facing numerous challenges as the digital-first approach to business gathers more and more momentum.

The future is expected to bring an even greater pace of change, piling yet more pressure onto IT security professionals as they strive to protect an increasingly distributed workforce, manage growing complexity around interconnectivity, and ensure compliance with ever-stricter data governance regulations.

It is little wonder then that organisations across Qatar are ramping up their investments in security services.

Despite limited numbers of security specialists, higher numbers of remote workers, changing regulatory compliance requirements, new hybrid environments, accelerating cloud investments, and the complexities of next-generation technologies, organizations are investing more in security services to support their quest for innovation and strengthen their security postures.

The IDC Security Roadshow in Qatar, which takes place on June 14 at the Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel & Villas, will provide all the knowledge and tools required to face such challenges head on. Bringing together some of the world’s foremost cybersecurity experts, the event will examine the evolving dynamics of Qatar’s security landscape and showcase the very latest innovations in security-focused technologies.

The agenda will include a keynote presentation by Shilpi Handa (pictured), IDC’s associate research director for security in the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa, as she addresses the topic ‘Shaping Security Strategies for the Digital-First Organization’. In this session she will outline a set of strategies that CISOs can leverage to overcome the complex security challenges posed by an increasingly digital-first world.

“In today’s age of asymmetric cybersecurity warfare, cybercriminals have the advantage of initiating threats based on their own plans while organizations play defense,” says Handa. “Today’s security heads must play a multidimensional role that extends beyond maintaining security to encompass evolving business and digital concerns. It is critical that they collaborate closely with their fellow C-suite executives to proactively detect and mitigate cyberthreats and keep their organizations safe.”

The Qatar edition of IDC Security Roadshow will also include a series of fascinating end-user insights from respected industry thought leaders such as: Firas Georges Khalil, IT Director, Baladna Food Industries; Imran Chowdhury, Global Head of Data Protection & Governance, Al Jazeera Media Network; Parwez Mohammad, CISO, Public Works Authority; Abdul Sathar, IT Project Manager, Q Company; Ewald Müller, Managing Director, Supervision & Authorization, Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority; Rakesh Gohil, Head of IT, Darwish Holding

IDC’s valued partners for the event in Qatar include: Host Partner: TXOne; Strategic Partner: Cisco; Digital Trust Partner: Palo Alto Networks; Platinum Partner: GBM; Gold Partners: Cloudflare, Randori, Swimlane, SentinelOne, Kaspersky, Exabeam, Fortinet; Silver Partner: Delinea.
