Doha: United Development Company (UDC), a leading Qatari public shareholding company and master developer of The Pearl-Qatar and Gewan Island, is gearing up for its first Medina Centrale Festival, an outdoor event that will feature a variety of entertaining programs designed to please all the family.

The festival, which will run from April 4 to 7 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, will take place at Medina Centrale, the most lively and dynamic community in the heart of The Pearl-Qatar and will feature a number of festive activities combining arts, music and leisure activities for children and families, residents and visitors alike.

Located between the residential, shopping, and dining district of Porto Arabia and the serene beachfront community of Viva Bahriya, the vibrant town center will bring together residents and visitors to celebrate art and music.

Graffiti artists, caricaturists, and musicians will engage the audience through entertainment and music shows taking place throughout the four-day festival.

A long tunnel decorated with flowers and colorful lights will be erected at Medina Centrale where the activities will include a street parade. The festival will feature a dedicated children’s area that will be home to a playground, remote-control racing car tracks, face painting, drawing and plant-related workshops. Children will also enjoy train rides and mascot shows. Families and visitors will have easy access to a variety of new lifestyle offerings, high-end dining outlets, and an eclectic mix of top brands.

UDC’s tradition of hosting festivals across the island falls in line with the company’s efforts to promote The Pearl-Qatar as a one-stop destination for shopping, dining and leisurely living.

Over 13 million vehicles entered the island in 2018, a 17 percent increase from around 11 million in 2017, reflecting the island’s success, year after year, in cementing its position as an iconic site attracting tourists and visitors and housing Doha’s fast-growing community.
