Dhreima Orphans Care Center received Al Sanabel Award for Community Responsibility in GCC. Mariam Ali Al Misnad, Executive Director of Dhreima, was presented the award under the title of ‘Ambassador for Orphans’ in Bahrain yesterday.
Al Misnad is the first woman to win the award for her efforts in orphanage care. The award's organising committee also declared Al Misnad as an ambassador for orphans.
The award ceremony was attended by a host of GCC officials.
Commenting on the occasion, Al Misnad expressed her pride at being chosen an ambassador for orphans.
She noted that Dhreima works hard to provide good care to orphans and looks to have more partnerships with all institutions concerned with the field.
Dhreima considers that the family is the best and ideal environment for the upbringing of the child. Any care provided to orphans must aim at this family environment as the best solution, she said.
Dhreima believes that orphans are the responsibility of the entire society. Hence, partnership and networking between Dhreima and other institutions of the society is the primary foundation in the implementation of policies and programmes, Al Misnad added.
