Austria, Hungary are champions in Doha

DOHA: Austria and Hungary won the boys’ and girls’ title at the 24th ISF World Schools Handball Championships here yesterday.
Germany finished on the losing side in both the finals.
In the boys’ section, Austria kept their cool to script a fighting win.
Both the teams were tied 18-all at the end of normal period of play, but Austria took good in the end winning the title.
In the girl’s section, Hungary where runaway winners beating the Germany girls 30-17.
The nine-day championship was played at three venues in Doha and organized by Qatar School Sports Association (QSSA), in technical collaboration with Qatar Handball Federation.
 Over 20 countries took part in the event including Austria, France, Turkey, Germany, Poland, Croatia, Brazil, Israel, Hungary, Slovenia, Denmark, Romania, Morocco, Georgia, Romania, Czech Republic, Greece, Belgium, Bulgaria, Serbia and hosts Qatar.
The closing ceremony was held yesterday at the Ali bin Hamad Al Attiyah Stadium in Al Sadd, after the boys final.
