Ashghal : No Plans to Increase Number of "22 February Street" Lanes

DOHA:The Public Works Authority ( Ashgal ) has confirmed that there are currently no plans to increase the number of lanes of "22 February Street", and denies what was included in the services and public utilities committee meeting report in this regard, Ashgal said in a statement .
The statement said referring to what was published in newspapers on Wednesday, February 25th, 2015 on increasing the lanes of "22 February Street" to 7 lanes in the future, including 5 lanes for cars and 2 lanes for trucks, as part of the media coverage of the meeting of the Central Municipal Council held on February 24th 2015, which discussed the meeting report of the services and public utilities committee held on January 26th 2015 on the road projects.
The statement added that the Public Works Authority (Ashgal ) or any of its officials, did not release any information about development plans of "22 February Street", or about increasing its lanes.
The above mentioned meeting of the services and public utilities committee was not attended by any representatives of the Public Works Authority due to their presence outside the country on official business assignments, which is stipulated in the meeting report, and therefore the contents of the meeting report on "22 February Street" has not been mentioned or approved by the Public Works Authority officials, statement said.
