Suwon: The Qatari handball team won the title of the 18th Asian Men's Championship to qualify for the 2019 World Championship to be held in Germany and Denmark, after beating Bahrain 33-31 in their final match which was played in the South Korean city of Suwon on Sunday.
This is Qatar's third straight Asian Handball Championship title after winning the titles of 2014 and 2016 against Bahrain. In the final of 2014 final, Qatar won 27-26, while in 2016 the scores were 27-22 in Qatar's favor.
The final was a strong match and Bahrain ended the first half with a 17/16 victory. In the second half, Qatar improved performance significantly and outperformed Bahrain by four goals to finish the match in its favor.
Qatar player Frankis Marzo was named the best player of the match after his good performance, especially in the second half when he scored a crucial goal.
