DOHA: It will be a windy, dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy day today, with wind gusts with periodical lulls likely in places.
Northwesterly to northerly wind will move at 18 to 28 knots and the windy conditions will prevail all over the country, the Met office said, adding the speed at times and in places could exceed 40 knots.
It warned that the strong wind will kick up dust in some places at times, leading to visibility at 1km or less in some places. Visibility will later improve to three to 7km.
The weather bureau said windy conditions may prevail today all over, including offshore and the seas will be rough.
In the seas, it will be partly cloudy and slightly dusty. Northwesterly wind from the colder regions of Europe may gather speed of 25 to 35 knots offshore.
The sea wouldn’t be so rough near the shores as waves could rise up to one to four feet. In the deep seas waves could rise up to eight to 12 feet.
There will be some chill during the day, particularly in Abu Samra on Qatar-Saudi Arabia border, Dukhan and Al Ruwais, where peak day temperatures would be between 17 and 18 degrees Celsius.
In Al Khor, the day temperature will be 20 degrees, and 21 degrees in Doha, Al Wakrah and Messaieed.
The night will be cold all over the country as the mercury will vary between 13 and 15 degrees.
In Al Wakrah and Messaieed, the mercury will drop to 13 degrees, making the night colder, and in Doha and Al Ruwais the temperature will be 15 degrees.
In Abu Samra, Dukhan and Al Khor, the nightly temperature will be 14 degrees, said the weather office. Sunrise will be at 6.18 and sunset 5.15.
