Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Fawzia Abdulaziz Al Khater said that the competition celebrates researchers and innovators by encouraging them to pursue their topics of interest. She added that the competition also encourages cooperation and competition, in addition to showcasing the projects undertaken by students to solve the world’s problems. She noted that the extraordinary conditions imposed by the coronavirus all over the world meant that the competition could not be held as in the past, and added that the ministry remained committed to holding the event nonetheless. She also expressed her pride at seeing some of the students win international awards for their work. Executive Director of the Qatar National Research Fund, Dr. Abdul Sattar Al Taie said that in line with the vision and mission of the QNRF to build national capabilities in scientific research at all stages, the fund, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, has encouraged school students at all levels to employ the knowledge and skills they learn through training them in scientific research methodologies.
