Qatar’s Tamimi to take on Egypt’s Karim in Doha final

World No.43 and top seed Abdulla Al Tamimi of Qatar will take on Egyptian Karim El Hammamy in the final of the Qatar Circuit No.4, a PSA M15 event at Doha’s Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex on Tuesday.

In the semi-final on Monday, the 22-year-old Aspire Academy product overcame Youssef Soliman of Egypt in three games to two to keep himself in the hunt for a title in the home event.

Tamimi, who is treating the Qatar tournament as a preparation for next month’s World Championship in Manchester, won 11-3, 11-7, 4-11, 9-11, 11-7 to finish on top in the one-hour battle for supremacy.

In the other semi-final, World No.77 Karim overpowered Sanjay Singh of Malaysia 3-1 to make it to the title clash. The Cairo based player won the 51-minute clash 11-7, 11-6, 6-11, 11-5.
