Doha: The Ministry of Economy and Trade has established specialised committees to combat inflation, the Minister of Economy and Trade H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani said, hoping for positive outcome soon.
Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of the 7th Qatar International Real Estate and Investment Exhibition (Q-REX 2013), he said it is normal for any economy with huge investments like Qatar to experience inflation.
The Minister pointed about the significance of these investments in developing domestic trade.
“Despite the noticeable rise in land prices, there are also new open lands, whether in Lusail or other areas outside Doha,” he said.
The Minister expressed his pleasure at the participation of various countries in the exhibition, highlighting that the participation of countries such as Thailand and Philippines speaks to the development of the exhibition every year.
Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman of Qatari Businessmen Association, said he wished an increase in the number of participating Qatari firms in the expo.
