Doha hosts Women’s World Cup Referees Workshop

Doha: The FIFA workshop for women’s referees nominated to manage the 2023 Women’s World Cup matches in New Zealand and Australia was launched in Doha with the participation of 28 women, including 20 referees for the arena and 8 referees for VAR.

The course will be supervised by the Chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee Pierluigi Collina, Executive Director of the FIFA Arbitration Department Massimo Busacca, and the Women’s Referee Officer at the FIFA Kari Seitz, with the participation of Head of the Referees Committee of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Vice-Chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee Hani Taleb Balan, and Executive Director of the Arbitration Department at QFA Naji Al Juweni.

Hani Ballan, thanked the FIFA for its great confidence to chose Qatar as a venue for preparing and naming women and men referees for the most important international tournaments, saying that another work shop will be held for male referee starting first of November and lasts for five days. 

These workshops represent an extension of a series of activities and courses hosted by Qatar and were praised by everyone without exception.
