Borgward’s new BX5 models on display.
DOHA: German automaker Borgward has formally solidified its presence in the Qatari automotive industry with the official debut in the local market of its new BX5 luxury sport-utility vehicle (SUV) model equipped with the powerful 1.4T turbo-charged engine.
With a starting price of QR69,000, BX5 1.4T, which will be exclusively distributed by Al Taleb Motors, was launched during the kick-off of the ongoing three-day event organized by Borgward at the Mall of Qatar and is expected to address the customers’ different demands for engine power.
The light weight BX5 1.4T boasts of a maximum torque of 250Nm/1750-4000 and a maximum power of 110kW/5500rpm with 1,395 cc engine capacity. Aluminum alloys are widely used in the vehicle and, compared to traditional structure, the exhaust manifold is reduced by 3 kg. The sleek new BX5 model is known for its low-fuel consumption, improved comfort, and enhanced car experience.
During the three-day event, Borgward offerings include a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty period, or 100,000km whichever comes first, upon purchase as well as 5-year preventive maintenance service, or 93,000km whichever comes first. All these are subject to terms and conditions.
