Minister of Municipality and Environment H E Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi has shown his readiness to meet and interact with the members of Central Municipal Council (CMC) to address the issues related to their respective constituencies.
CMC has recommended to the Ministry of Transport and Communications to provide separate parking lots for heavy machines and equipment vehicle and has asked the Ministry to conduct a feasibility study in this regard.
Speaking in a CMC regular session yesterday, the Minister said “CMC members are welcome any time at the Ministry to raise their concerns related to their respective constituencies.
He also said that the members are also allowed to get information about ongoing projects and many other things like services related to municipality and environment.
“I want to interact with CMC members for the development of the Council,” said the Minister. The CMC discussed a report on allocating spaces for the parking of machines and equipment submitted by the services committee. The proposal for allocation was put forward by CMC member Khalid bin Abdullah Al Ghali from the constituency No. 22.
The CMC also discussed a report of services committee on a proposal for providing entertainment facilities and water games at Al Khor Park. The proposal was submitted by CMC member Nasir bin Ibrahim Al Muhannadi from constituency No. 25. A proposal regarding fire prevention at under construction buildings was also discussed in the CMC session yesterday. The proposal was made by a member Abdullah bin Salem Al Khor from constituency No 11.
CMC Chairman, Mohamad bin Hammud Al Shafi thanked the Minister of Municipality and Environment H E Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi for responding to the recommendations of the Council in his inaugural speech at the session. It was an open meeting between the Minister of Municipality and Environment and CMC members, said Al Shafi. Many issues related to the development projects in the constituencies, municipality services and development plans were discussed. The Minister listened to the proposals and remarks of the CMC members and assured them of full support for the development of CMC.
After discussing the proposal, the CMC recommended to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications to conduct a feasible study to make parking spaces for heavy machines and equipment like truck parking .
