Doha: Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued guidelines for restaurants as part of the fourth phase of the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions. This decision will be effective as of Tuesday, September 1, 2020.
Complementing previous decisions taken by the State of Qatar to preserve the safety and health of citizens and residents and limit the spread of (COVID-19), it has been decided the following:
1 - Allowing all restaurants (that do not have a Qatar Clean certificate) to resume their activities (receiving customers) with only 30% capacity, while adhering to the requirements of the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
2- Allowing restaurants with a Qatar Clean certificate to carry out their activities (receiving customers) with 100% capacity, instead of 50%, while adhering to the requirements of the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
Conditions for obtaining work approval with a capacity of 100%:

According to the decision, restaurant management should adhere to the precautionary and preventive measures set by the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs, and they must apply the following guidelines:
- Clients are allowed entry only after showing a green status on the Ehtraz app.
- Open buffet service not allowed, rely on predefined menus.
- Shisha not allowed.
- Ban entry of people not wearing medical masks.
- Measure the temperature of customers at entrances and not allow individuals whose temperature is more than 38 degrees Celsius to enter the restaurant.
- Provide hand sanitizers at all restaurant facilities.
- Place safe distance stickers on restaurant floors.
- Rearrange tables leaving a distance of at least two meters between each table.
- A maximum of five people allowed to sit at each table (members of one family are excluded from this).
- Encourage customers to pay with bank cards and avoid using paper currencies.
- Ban smoking at entrances of restaurants and removing all ashtrays.
- Ban customers or limousine drivers from gathering at the restaurant entrance.
- Checking and measuring the temperature of the restaurant workers constantly, isolating employees who show symptoms of infection, and informing the concerned authorities to take the necessary precautionary and health measures.
- All restaurant facilities, including administrative offices, warehouses, staff accommodations and transportation facilities of the restaurant, are constantly sterilized.
This decision shall be effective as of Tuesday, September 1, 2020, and it is subject to amendment and updating according to developments in this regard, and any violation of what this decision stipulated will expose the perpetrators to legal procedures and accountability.
