Some new converts to Islam wait to participate in the 6th edition of Sheikh Jassem Bin Mohammed Bin Thani Holy Quran Competition hosted by Abdullah Bin Zid Almahmud Cultural And Islamic Center.
DOHA: About 200 new converts to Islam — males and females — have participated the 6th edition of Sheikh Jassem Bin Mohammed Bin Thani Holy Quran Competition hosted by Abdullah Bin Zid Almahmud Cultural And Islamic Center.
“The newly convert participants are expatriates hailing from 11 countries of Asia and Africa,” said Sultan Sad Al Badar, a member of the Organising Committee of Sheikh Jassem Bin Mohammed Bin Thani Holy Quran Competition.
He said that women converts are actively participating in the competition. “A separate section for new converts was added to competition to create opportunity for them to interact and learn Holy Quran properly,” said Al Badar.
He said that the competition section for new converts included three categories. He further said that the requirement of the participation was that the converting time should not accede more than three years so the new converts can participate.
“Abdullah Bin Zid Almahmud Cultural And Islamic Center organised many programme for converts like educational and those related to learning Holy Quran and Arabic language to help them merge in Muslim society,” said Al Badar. All participants will receive valuable prizes.
