DOHA: Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) Carrefour yesterday launched its third Carrefour Market in Qatar, located in the new Ezdan Mall.

Carrefour operates in the region through a joint venture with Majid Al Futtaim Group.

With an emphasis on fresh food, grocery and selected household items, MAF Carrefour operates 25 Carrefour Markets in the GCC.

After the success of Carrefour Markets in Lagoona Mall and in Dar Es Salam, the new 1,600sqm store is the third supermarket in Qatar and is part of a continuing GCC-wide programme to expand the globally-successful MAF Carrefour network with 28 Hypermarkets and now 26 ‘Carrefour Market’ brands in UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.

“In Carrefour Market, we are constantly striving to offer our customers convenience both in our store layouts, and in our geographical locations. Our adaptive product selection means that we cater to the neighbourhood in which each of our markets are located and we select our products for the shelves according to the neighbourhood requirements,” said Franck Rouquet, Vice President Carrefour Supermarkets in the UAE, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait.

“The opening of this latest supermarket means that families in the Ezdan region will now have all of our fresh produce, dairy products, groceries, cleaning products and the best selection of household goods nearer to them than ever. Customers can stand on the experience of MAF Carrefour to provide them with a high standard of service with trained employees, specialized butchers and fishmongers, and of course, friendly customer servers at their doorstep,” said Rouquet.

Carrefour Ezdan visitors can expect fresh bread baked in stores, pizza made in front of customers, fresh cut vegetables ready to be cooked, and highly trained employees to offer the best possible service.
