Doha: Qatar National Bank (QNB) has refused to comment on the news about alleged data breach of their servers.
In a statement issued by the bank they said: “Referring to social media speculation in regard to an alleged data breach, it is QNB Group policy not to comment on reports circulated via social media. QNB would like to take this opportunity to assure all concerned that there is no financial impact on our clients or the Bank.”
In twitter there were many posts from the likes of cryptome.org suggesting there was a huge data breach at QNB servers and thousands of files with many details about customers and transactions were broken into.
There were no details about who are the behind the attack or the reason behind it and it was not possible to determine the accuracy of the info.
QNB in their statement said they are investigating the matter in coordination with all concerned parties.
The statement further said: “QNB Group places the highest priority on data security and deploying the strongest measures possible to ensure the integrity of our customers' information.
QNB is further investigating this matter in coordination with all concerned parties.”
