DOHA: Al Resala Independent Secondary School for Girls in Doha, to mark the Earth Day, took part in a webcast by Qatar Foundation International (QFI), together with the Global Nomads Group (GNG) of New York.
The live webcast will be led by students who participated in the Exploring Science, Connecting Cultures: Road to Doha climate change classroom program. Environmental expert Paige Tantillo, Co-Founder of Sprout Middle East, will join a guest panel to share insights and answer questions.
“Connecting cultures is an important goal for QFI,” said Maggie Mitchell Salem, QFI’s Executive Director. “What better way to connect young people from around the world than through discussions about issues that affect us all - the environment? And what better day to celebrate global citizenry than Earth Day?”
During the webcast, Washington Latin students shared their experience and showcase a vertical, edible garden that they previously developed. The students provided details on the project, including its development, growth and progress, as well as the challenges and obstacles they faced throughout the process. Following the webcast, the students created their own vertical garden with various plants and herbs provided by Sprout Middle East. Vertical garden materials have been provided by Woolly Pocket.
