The Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) has postponed all local competitions for all groups and has suspended foreign participations by the national team champions in order to support the efforts made by the State through all precautionary measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
QAF President, Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari said that the postponement of the Doha round of the Diamond League will be temporary until another notice in the hope that this crisis ends soon, pointing out that new date will be determined later in coordination with World Athletics.
Al Kuwari added that they have coordinated fully with the Ministry of Public Health and all State institutions during the past days and decided with World Athletics to postpone the Doha round of the Diamond League to maintain the safety of athletes as it is more important than any competitions or tournaments
