Third Cybersecurity Experts Group meeting begins

DOHA: The Third Cybersecurity Experts Group meeting by Interpol’s Project Stadia in cooperation with the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) started on Sunday.

Falah Abdulla Al Dosari, Senior Manager, Project Stadia Interpol stressed on the importance of cybersecurity meeting saying it reflected the importance of enhancing international partnership in the field of sporting events security. 

He added that it should especially be the case in the current time of increasing intercontinental security threats. 

“The meeting is looking to enhance Qatar’s communication with other countries to benefit from their experiences in securing major sporting events and to create a wealth of information in the field,” Al Dosari observed.

He pointed out that the meeting would provide a detailed presentation of knowledge management, which was launched at the Safety and Security of Major Events Conference hosted by Qatar recently, which “works in cooperation between Interpol and the State of Qatar under the auspices of Interpol”.

Major Othman Salem Al Hamoud, Assistant Director of Information Security Center of Ministry of Interior, said that the meeting was held to gain from the security experience of the experts in hosting international sporting events. Dr Ahmed Elmagarmid, CEO of QCRI, gave a comprehensive presentation on “The role of Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI) in cyber security research and stakeholder support.”
