Doha: The Postal Consignment Department of Air Cargo and Private Airports Customs thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotic pills into Qatar.
According to authorities, the banned pills were hidden inside a shipment containing candies. In photos shared on social media, the pills were hidden among candies inside its boxed packaging.
During the inspection, a total of 453 narcotic pills were found.
Qatar Customs stated that a seizure report has been issued and the contraband were delivered to the authorities.
Recently, authorities at Hamad International Airport (HIA) also found narcotic lyrica pills in a traveller's bag. During the inspection, 7,000 pills were found.
