A letter of appreciation from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to Ta’allum.
Doha: Ta’allum Group’s Al Maha Academy for Girls (AMAG) received official notification of their strong performance in the TIMSS (Trends in Mathematics and Science Study) — a prestigious international comparative assessment.
The Academy significantly exceeded the Global average of 500 points. Their success was honoured in a ‘Letter of Achievement’ received from the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for Private Education Affairs Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama. This score makes a major contribution to the State of Qatar’s improved standing in the world rankings.
The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study, TIMSS 2019, was the seventh assessment cycle. TIMSS 2019 was conducted for Year 4 and Year 8 in 64 countries and 8 benchmarking systems.
Inaugurated in 1995, TIMSS has been conducted every four years since, providing 24 years of trends in mathematics and science achievement. TIMSS 2019 began the transition to e-assessment, where countries could administer TIMSS 2019 in electronic or paper format. Ta’allum Academies have been at the forefront of e-assessment.
Dr. Mohammed Saefan, Ta’allum Director of Education hailed the outcome. “Standards continue to rise in all subjects across Ta’allum Academies. We are always mindful of how our educational standards compare internationally.
