Doha, Qatar: The Al Gharafa Hall witnessed an exciting and competitive evening yesterday as part of the matches in the second division of the Qatar General Basketball League for the 2025-2026 season.

Both Al Sadd and Al Rayyan continued their strong performances, securing important victories against Al Gharafa and Al Arabi respectively, in two matches that stood out for their technical and competitive dimensions.

In the first match, Al Sadd confirmed its readiness to strongly compete for the top positions by achieving a well-deserved win over Al Gharafa with a score of 98-77.

The leader (Al Sadd) entered the game with high focus, imposing its style from the opening minutes and securing the first quarter by a narrow margin of two points (19-17) amid clear balance between defense and offense.

Al Sadd maintained its advantage throughout the second quarter, relying on fast transition attacks and accurate shooting from various distances, ending the first half ahead after winning the second quarter (25-19).

The third quarter was the most pivotal turning point in the match, where Al Sadd imposed complete control over the game, benefiting from excellent organization and ideal spacing on the court, winning it convincingly (27-16) and widening the gap to a level that made Al Gharafa’s comeback difficult.

Despite Al Gharafa’s improved performance in the fourth quarter, which ended (27-25) in favour of Al Sadd, the superiority remained with the leader until the final buzzer.

On the individual performance front, Al Gharafa player Joshua Caron Lee Holl emerged as the top scorer of the match with 30 points, while Malik Antonyo Toppin led Al Sadd’s offense with 27 points, contributing directly to securing the victory.

With this win, Al Sadd raised its tally to 15 points in third place, while Al Gharafa reached 11 points in seventh place.

In the second match, Al Rayyan continued its strong displays and achieved a big victory over Al Arabi with a score of 106-87, in a game characterized by fast transitions and mutual control.

Abdulrahman Abdulhalim from Al Arabi and Malik Romero Carey from Al Rayyan were the top scorers of the match, each with 24 points.
