ICBF officially launches life insurance scheme for Indian community members

The Indian Community Benevolent Forum’s (ICBF) recently announced community insurance scheme for the Indian community members, aimed at protecting families of the expats, who are working in Qatar. The scheme has been inaugurated by the Ambassador of India to Qatar, P Kumaran, during a function at Indian Embassy premises. 
During the event, an MoU between ICBF and Damaan Islamic Insurance Company, Beema was signed by ICBF President, P N Baburajan, and Damaan COO, Hari Krishnan. This life insurance scheme for all Indian community members residing in Qatar is launched in association with Damaan Islamic Insurance Company-Bheema, who facilitate the cover.
The coverage of insurance programme is QR100,000; it also covers permanent or partial disability up to the maximum covered amount depends on the percentage of the disability. ICBF intends to ensure maximum participation from Indian community to join for the insurance programme, where the premium is as low as QR125 for two years term. The ambassador congratulated the efforts of ICBF to bring in such an innovative idea to support the community and he appreciated the support of Damaan Insurance Company for their support to the initiative. He also requested all apex bodies to work together to ensure that the scheme reaches every Indians in Qatar for their benefit and conduct campaigns to promote the scheme. 
ICC President A P Manikantan and IBPC President Azim Abbas were also present during the function and voiced their support for the scheme and campaign and also agreed to work together for the initiative.  The dignitaries present during the function included ICBF Coordinating officers, S R H Fahmi and Dr. Sona Soman; ICBF Vice-President, Mahesh Gowda; General-Secretary, Avinash Gaikwad; Head of Development, Juttas Paul; ICBF Managing Committee members, Subrahmania Hebbaglu, Santosh Kumar, Nivedita Ketkar and Rajani Moorthy;  ICBF Development Sub Committee member, Abdulrahoof Kondotty, and leading community members.
