Malicious media campaigns against Qatar and GCC states denounced

Doha: Their Excellencies Information Ministers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries virtually held on Thursday their 25th meeting.

H E Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani Al Thani, CEO of the Qatar Media Corporation, headed the delegation of the State of Qatar to the ministerial meeting, along with Their Excellencies the ministers and representatives of the ministries of information in the GCC countries of and H E Secretary-General of the Council Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf.

Their Excellencies, the Ministers of Information in the GCC countries affirmed their rejection and denunciation of the systematic and malicious  media campaigns against the State of Qatar and the GCC states, as well as all attempts to undermine their successes and positive roles in regional and international forums, stressing the need for collectively responding to such campaigns, and highlighting the remarkable contributions of the GCC countries in all spheres.

The information ministers also congratulated the leadership, government and people of the State of Qatar on the organization of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and on the historic opening ceremony, which has reflected the great and significant efforts made by the State of Qatar in the preparation and wonderful organization of the international event.

The meeting also reviewed a number of issues of common interest in the field of information and mass media.

The undersecretaries’ preparatory meeting for the Information Ministers’ meeting was virtually held yesterday, with the participation of Media Advisor at the Qatar Media Corporation H E Abdulrahman Nasser Al Obaidan.
