Doha: Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani met the GCC interior ministers at Sheraton Hotel yesterday.
They were Saudi Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Lt. Gen. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan; Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, Bahraini Interior Minister Lt. Gen. Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa; Omani Interior Minister Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi; and GCC Secretary-General Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. Talks dealt with fraternal relations between GCC member states. The Deputy Emir wished them success in their 34th consultative meeting in enhancing GCC cooperation in security fields. Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani was present.
The Deputy Emir also hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the GCC interior ministers, attended by the Premier.
Earlier, the Deputy Emir led well-wishers to welcome Saudi Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and his delegation at Hamad International Airport. The Premier, Dr Al Zayani, Saudi Ambassador Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Aifan and officials from Qatari Ministry of Interior were present.
The Premier, Dr Al Zayani, GCC ambassadors accredited to Qatar, top officials from Qatari Ministry of Interior also welcomed other GCC interior ministers at the airport.
Following the meeting, the Deputy Emir led well-wishers to bid farewell to Saudi Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and his delegation at the airport. The Premier and the Saudi ambassador were present. The other GCC interior ministers also left Doha.
