Doha, Qatar: In a strongly worded statement, Qatar Press Center condemned the targeted attacks by the occupying Israeli forces on Al Jazeera journalist Wael Al-Dahdouh, who tragically lost his wife, son, and his daughter in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza.
It offered its condolences and sympathy to colleague Wael Al-Dahdouh and his family, adding, "dismayed at the occupying Israeli forces' use of military force to threaten journalists and take the lives of their families, with the goal of preventing them from reporting the news. We consider this to be in breach of international law, as well as humanitarian ethics."
The Qatar Press Centre further stated that it sees this action as additional proof of the Israeli occupation forces committing crimes, and called on the international community to order Israel to stop these crimes and prevent such attacks on civilians, especially in areas that are supposed to be designated as safe according to international agreements.
Qatar Press Center added, "We stand with our colleague Wael Al-Dahdouh and his family, and praise his determination and belief in his mission to cover the facts of the news and contribute to exposing the truth of the Israeli occupation to the world."
It called on the relevant international authorities to take action to ensure journalists and civilians are protected from such attacks, and that the perpetrators of this barbaric attack are brought to justice.
