The class of first-year students of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU-Q) in Qatar.
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) announced its most diverse class of first-year students in the history of the campus. There are 113 students in the freshman class who come from 32 countries.
The dean of CMU-Q, Michael Trick, noted that this is also an exceptionally gifted group of students: “Our first-year students are very bright and motivated, and they are already proving to be engaged, enthusiastic members of our community.”
Overall, CMU-Q is now home to 410 students from 48 nations, including the first students from Eswatini, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Mongolia and Rwanda. More than 40% of the CMU-Q student population is Qatari.
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar opened its doors in 2004 to an incoming class of 41 students studying business administration and computer science.
Today, CMU-Q offers three additional programs in biological sciences, computational biology and information systems.
