MoPH begins contacting people for third dose of Covid-19 vaccine

Doha: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has started contacting people suffering with immunodeficiency diseases for taking third (booster) shots of COVID-19 vaccine. 
Talking to Qatar TV yesterday Medical Director of Hamad General Hospital, Dr. Yousef Al Maslamani, said: “We started from today (Wednesday) contacting the concerned people. We began with 750 kidney transplant patients and they received vaccination messages. In turn we will send messages to people in other categories eligible for vaccination with the third dose.”
“The scientific committee is following everything in the world and there are studies confirming that people suffering with immunodeficiency diseases are unable to deal with the virus in the required manner and are vulnerable to infection and hospitalisation therefore it is necessary for them to receive the third dose,” Al Maslamani added.
