A cooperation agreement between the Community Policing Department of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW) was signed yesterday which aims at enhancing cooperation to serve the target groups in areas related to security, safety and cohesion of families and society.
The agreement was signed at the Ministry of Interior headquarters.
Two offices were also opened for Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman) and Family Consulting Center (Wifaq) and both centres are under the umbrella of QFSW in order to facilitate service access to targeted social cases from the centres and shorten the procedures.
The agreement was signed by Major General Eng. Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Ansari, Director of International Cooperation Department at the MoI, and Amal Abdullatif Al Mannai, CEO of QFSW.
Al Ansari said that the agreement meant a transition to a better stage for fruitful cooperation. “We hope that the two parties will work to provide a lot of joint effort to take care of the target groups. I hope in the next stage more cooperation will be reached between the two parties in order to develop an ideal model of social service.”
He also stressed the keenness of the MoI to cooperate with all institutions in various fields in order to achieve more security at all levels, praising the role of civil society institutions in the country and their cooperation with the Ministry of Interior for joint work to achieve the well-being and stability of families in the Qatari society.
The CEO of Qatar Foundation for Social Work, Amal Abdullatif Al Mannai, said that the Foundation is keen to extend bridges of cooperation and partnership with the government sector, especially the Ministry of Interior.
Amal Abdullatif Al Mannai stressed that the signing of the agreement is an extension of the existing cooperation between the foundation and its centres on the one hand and the Ministry of Interior and its concerned department on the other hand, adding that the agreement for which the foundation had worked for over two years would lead to cooperation protocols between the departments of the Ministry and the concerned centres of the foundation.
The CEO of Qatar Foundation for Social Work, Amal Abdullatif Al Mannai, stressed that in the special cases of women and children resorting to the community police, they are referred to the office to provide advice or rehabilitation before resorting to the competent authorities and within the confidentiality and privacy necessary for such cases.
