Leopard Racing’s British rider Danny Kent grabbed the honours in Round 2 of the Qatar Online Racing Championship (QORC) as Saeed Al Sulaiti’s second-place finish helped QMMF retain its overall points lead in the team competition. Kent, who won the 2015 World Moto3 Championship, completed a commanding win in a time of 26:16.933 seconds in the 19-lap digital race held at Austria’s iconic Red Bull Ring.

Popular Qatari rider Al Sulaiti, who won Round 1 on Tuesday, on Wednesday night secured the second place 12.480 seconds behind Kent. Al Sulaiti was just behind Kent when he crashed in the 14th lap. He could not recover as Kent - who started on pole - cruised to his comfortable win Leopard Racing’s Xavi Artigas finished in third spot (+21.903 seconds), a notch above QMMF’s Saoud Al Thani (+26.550 seconds). Marcos Ramirez was the third Leopard Racing rider in the top five, posting the fifth fastest time (+28.285 seconds).

Jassim Al Thani (QMMF), Hamad Al Sahouti (QMMF) and Jaume Masiá (Leopard Racing) finished in sixth, seventh and eighth spots respectively. In the riders’ standings after Round 2, Al Sulaiti (76 points) still leads the pack followed by Al Thani (67), Artigas (66) and Al Sahouti (59). After two rounds, QMMF Racing have a tally of 231 points while Leopard Racing have managed to accumulate 193 points from two rounds.

The next four rounds will be held in Phillip Island (Australia), Jerez (Spain), Mugello (Italy) and Losail International Circuit (Qatar). The series winners will be decided on the collective tally of points the two teams muster over the course of the week.
