INJAZ holds annual Young Enterprise of the Year awards

Doha: INJAZ Qatar, a non-profit organisation and member of Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide, held Mubadara, the 6th Annual Young Enterprise of the Year competition awards ceremony at Katara.

Mubadara 2013 is sponsored by ExxonMobil Qatar Inc (platinum sponsor), Katara Cultural Village (strategic partner), Siemens (silver sponsor), ibTECHar (partner) and Afif Programme (partner).

The event was hosted by Khalid Aboujassoum, winner of the Stars of Science 2012 show, and Co-Founder and Executive Manager of ibTECHar. 

Sheikha Hanadi Nasser bin Khaled Al Thani, Chairperson of INJAZ Qatar, said in her opening speech: “Today, we are extremely proud of the six participating teams that have shown remarkable innovation, planning and dedication by achieving their entrepreneurial goals as part of Mubadara. Following months of hard work on behalf of the participants as well as the INJAZ team, we are glad that Mubadara once again provided a platform for the youth of Qatar to showcase their entrepreneurial projects and share their creative business approaches with key stakeholders in the country.  Through initiatives like Company Program, we aim to continue inspiring the youth and equipping them with the skills they need to become successful entrepreneurs. I would like to thank the volunteers, companies, schools, teachers, sponsors and of course, participants and their families, who have helped made this programme a huge success.”

Ahmed Al Sayed, Deputy General Manager, Katara, said: “We are thrilled to enter this new strategic partnership with INJAZ Qatar. It has been our pleasure to host such an event at Katara. Seeing these talented and driven high school students shows that INJAZ Qatar is headed in the right direction, aiding the socioeconomic as well as cultural development of Qatar - a goal we, at Katara, share with the organization.”

Ta’alam wa Tamata’a from Al Resala Independent Secondary School for Girls won the ‘Best Student Company – School Level’ Award sponsored by ExxonMobil; Vibrohear from Qatar University won the “Best Student Company – University Level” Award sponsored by ExxonMobil; Educom from Tarek bin Ziyad Independent Secondary school for boys won the ‘Best Marketing Plan’ Award sponsored by Katara; Q-Wood from Omar bin Abdul Aziz Independent Secondary school for boys won the ‘Most Innovative Product or Service’ Award sponsored by INJAZ Qatar; Restyle from Al Kawthar Independent Secondar School for girls won the ‘Best Social Impact’ Award sponsored by Siemens.
