Doha: Qatar’s economy continues to attract international attention after occupying seventh place globally in terms of the ease of business, in a the resilience index released yesterday by FM Global. Qatar was the top country in the Middle-East.
Commenting on the report, Minister of Economy and Commerce H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani said that Qatar made important steps last year that led to its high ranking this year.
The Minister added that becoming the top country in the Middle-East in ease of business reflected the wisdom of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the efforts of the government and the support of the Qatari people in the country’s bid for development and progress.
He noted that Qatar was enjoying excellent political and economic conditions in terms of the administrative system and the strong infra-structure. He highlighted the improvements currently being made to legislations as well to improve transparency and limit corruption.
The index measures business flexibility of countries in view of monetary, risk quality and supply chain variables.
