Doha, Qatar: The General Authority of Customs celebrated International Customs Day 2026, which falls on January 26 each year, under the slogan "Customs Protects Society through Vigilance and Commitment." The celebration was attended by the Minister of Finance, HE Ali bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, Chairman of the General Authority of Customs, HE Ahmed Abdullah Al-Jamal and a number of officials from the state and partner entities.
The ceremony featured a review of the Authority's most prominent achievements over the past year, along with key developmental projects implemented to facilitate customs clearance procedures. Additionally, statistics and customs data from various ports were presented.
The Authority also launched artificial intelligence services within the Al-Nadeeb Customs Clearance System. These services contribute to expediting clearance and release processes, reducing human errors, improving data quality, and supporting decision-making through intelligent analysis, thereby enhancing efficiency, transparency, and elevating service quality.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Authority honored its outstanding employees, inspectors with notable seizure records, veteran employees and retirees, as well as partner government and private sector entities, in appreciation of their contributions to supporting customs work.
Celebrating International Customs Day reflects the Authority's commitment to continuing its path of development and modernisation and enhancing its role as a key partner in protecting society and supporting sustainable economic development.
