Powered by a brilliant batting display by Prashant, Tuskers recorded a thrilling win over Hanan and emerged champions in the Nation Cup Cricket Tournament which was held at Old Ideal School grounds in Doha recently.
Batting first, Hanan scored 68 runs in their allotted eight overs with the help of a decent knock by Imran who top scored with 28. Rajneesh and Shaji were the pick of the bowlers for Tuskers, sharing five wickets among them. Thanks to the quick fire knock of 41 by Prashant, Tuskers reached the target in with eight ball remaining.
Prashant’s heroics in the final also earned him the Man of the Final trophy while Imran of Hanan was adjudged the best batsman of the tournament which saw eight teams vying for honours under floodlights.
The Nation Cup -2016 Tournament, a popular annual event among cricket fraternity in Qatar, is the brainchild of Siraj Virani, Managing Director of QADNET along with Imtitaz and Dr. Sanjay Kudari.
Former Indian paceman S Sreesanth graced the opening ceremony as a special guest this year and all matches were broadcast live on Youtube. Javed, Human Resources Manager and Sooraj, Marketing Manager, both from QAD-NET, Imtiyaz, Dr. Sanjay Kudari, Asmath Ali, Deepak Shetty, Abdulla Monu, Surinder, Subramanya and many other personnel who were behind the success of the eent were present at the prize distribution ceremony.
