Gulf Contracting Company (GCC), one of the foremost construction and infrastructure contractors in Qatar held a ceremony recently to mark the commencement of the structural concrete works on the new tower in Lusail City for Al Majed Real Estate - a member of the Al Majed Group.
The ceremony coincided with the commencement of the first phase of tower’s 14,000 cubic meter raft foundation concrete pour, which was expected to take 43 hours of continuous pouring. The ceremony was attended by Ahmed Al Majed, Chairman Al Majed Group; Yousuf Al Darwish, Chairman GCC; Ibrahim Al Jaidah, Group CEO, Arab Engineering Bureau (AEB); and Grahame McCaig, General Manager at GCC.
Al Majed said: "This is a proud moment to being part of Qatar Vision 2030 by developing a well-equipped commercial complex in future business hub Lusail City, Qatar. We are very glad to announce our development partners for this project, Gulf Contracting Company and Arab Engineering Bureau. We certainly look forward for this initiative to be completed and thereby became the partners of national build up."
Al Jaidah said: “This is a special moment to build a new landmark for Mr. Ahmed Al Majed and we are quite keen and happy to work again and again with GCC, one of the leading and well reputed Contractors in the State of Qatar. We certainly look forward for this unique masterpiece to be completed.”
On his part, Al Darwish added: “On behalf of Gulf Contracting Company, I am very pleased to be here today to witness the initial pouring of concrete for the Al Majed Real Estate Tower. This landmark tower will not only become an icon of Lusail City."
