Doha: Qatar finished on top in the 14th Arab Shooting Championship which concluded here at the Losail Shooting Range.
The hosts bagged a rich haul of medals to clinch the first place followed by Oman and Kuwait respectively.
The hosts, who dominated from day one of the eight-day championship, bagged 47 medals clinching first place in 18 events while collecting 14 silver and 15 bronze on the way.
Second place Oman bagged 13 gold, 18 silver and 13 bronze while Kuwait, clinched the third place with 13 gold, 11 silver and 8 bronze
The Omani delegation was crowned as the best fans for their support to the Gulf and Arab teams participating in the tournament.
On Friday, Qatar shooters won 12 medals in pistol mixed event.
Qatar shooters Ahmed Zayed Al Shammari and Riyad Rustom finished first and second in the 25m standard pistol men’s event.

Al Shammari with a total of 565-11x finished first. Khan scored 559-14x to finish ahead of the third-placed Omani Muad Al Balushi, who shot 558-14x.
In the mixed trap event, Qatari pair of Rashid Hamad Al Athba and Amna Al Abdulla shot 31 to finish third.
Lebanon’s Moussa and Ray Bassil scored 43 to win the event, while Kuwait’s Abdulrahman Al Faihan and Sarah Al Hawal came second with 39.
Qatar youth shooters also performed admirably as Al Maha Al Ali with her dazzling performance won the 10m air rifle junior title. She fired 231.7. Second-placed Hadil Ahmed Al Harbi of Oman scored 227.5 and her compatriot Arwa Al Touqi came third with 203,2.
In the 10m air rifle men youth, Khalid Nasser Al-Naemi came third. Qatar’s Al Dana Al Mubarak and Osama Nasser Al Shaiba also won the 10m air pistol mixed team gold.
Qatar’s Shahd Al Darwish won 10m air rifle youth women silver.
More than 200 shooters from Qatar, Sudan, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine and Morocco took part in the championship.
Hosts Qatar took part with over 35 shooters in pistol, air rifle and shotgun events.
