Doha: Qatar Touch Rugby’s Donz 7’s Tournament will be held in the first weekend of December this year, it was announced here yesterday.
Started in 2008, the tournament is hosted each year in December, and has been the premier event for Touch Football in Qatar and the Gulf Region.
The event is used to showcase Touch Rugby to the nation across Open divisions, allowing the Qatar’s best Touch footballers a chance to compete with and against each other.
The competition sees teams split up into groups and divisions to create an even playing field across the tournament.
The event aims to bring a variety of individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds together to engage in the sport of Touch Rugby in a fun and relaxed environment.
The competition is open to any male resident living in Qatar.
This year we have players from Africa, Afghanistan, Australia, Egypt, India, Lebanon and Sri Lank ready to compete for the biggest Touch Rugby event in Doha.
Qatar Touch Rugby and the Donz 7’s provide teams and spectators with a wonderful display of cultural diversity that lives within the sport of Touch Football.
The event has attracted coaches and players who have represented and achieved at the highest levels of the sport.
Qatar Touch Rugby & Donz 7’s Participation Manager, Hans Thomaz said that he is looking forward to the event.
