500 attend Qatar-Turkey 2015 Children’s Event

DOHA: Qatar National Library (QNL), in collaboration with Qatar Museums, presented ‘Qatar-Turkey 2015’ Children’s Event on Thursday, attracting over 500 visitors. 
The event at Education City’s Club House was part of Qatar-Turkey 2015 Year of Culture, cultural exchange programme to promote collaboration between the peoples of both countries and presented Turkey’s rich cultural heritage to the Qatari society through activities, including exhibitions, concerts and competitions, among others.
The event also showcased Turkish culture and feature stimulating creative, fun and cultural activities including Turkish flag and carpet bookmark craft, and shadow puppet storytelling. It aimed to create an ambiance conducive to learning, self-development and creativity.
“It is being held in conjunction of Qatar Museums events around the country to celebrate culture of Turkey, making people learn more about the Turkey’s culture, what similarities and differences we have,” said Carol Mitchell, head of Children’s section, QNL.
