Rashid Saleh Al-Athba, Mohamed Al-Kuwari, and Abdulaziz Al-Attiya, earned the silver medal in the men’s skeet team event.
Rabat: The Qatari national shooting team clinched a total of three medals, two golds and one silver, during their meritorious performance at the ongoing Arab Shotgun Championship held in Tangier, Morocco.
The contest featured events in both skeet and trap disciplines across men’s, women’s, and mixed team categories.
Rashid Saleh Al-Athba delivered a standout performance, capturing the gold medal in the Men’s Skeet Individual competition. On the women’s side, Hajar Ghulam Mohammed secured the gold medal in the Women’s Skeet Individual event. In addition, the men’s skeet team, comprising Rashid Saleh Al-Athba, Mohamed Al-Kuwari, and Abdulaziz Al-Attiya, earned the silver medal in the Men’s Skeet Team event.
The upcoming segment of the championship will witness the commencement of the trap shooting events, running from today.
This prestigious regional tournament features 60 elite marksmen and markswomen representing eight countries: Morocco (host nation), Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Oman. The championship is scheduled to conclude on September 28.
Head of the Qatari Delegation and Director of the Skeet Shooting Program, Ahmed Khaled Al-Darwish expressed optimism for continued success in the trap events starting tomorrow, aiming for additional podium finishes.
The Qatari delegation in Tangier includes (Skeet shooting team) Abdulaziz Al-Attiya, Mohamed Al-Kuwari, Rashid Saleh Al-Athba, Masoud Saleh Al-Athba, Hajar Ghulam Mohammed, Hajar Mohammed, Sarah Mohammed, and Aisha Al-Ansari, (Trap shooting team) Mohamed Al-Rumaihi, Angelo Scalzoni, Rashid Hamad Al-Athba, Ray Basil, Khulood Al-Khalaf, Maitha Al-Binali, and Amna Al-Abdullah.
The delegation is also supported by the Director of the Trap Shooting Program, Masoud Al-Athba.
