Doha: Numerous Filipino public festivities in Qatar are in pipeline starting with the much-awaited Philippine Food, Cultural and Trade Festival Qatar (PFCTFQ) which is slated to happen on October 21-22 this year. The said event is only a sneak peek to more community events planned for next year.
This was revealed in a meeting held on Thursday with officials of the Philippine Embassy in Qatar and senior leaders of the Filipino community in the country.
The Philippine Food, Cultural and Trade Festival Qatar is organized by Kulinarya Qatar, a cultural movement through Filipino cuisine established since 2015 under the guidance of the Embassy. This will also mark as the 6th Kulinarya Qatar Food Court and Exhibition.
The meeting was attended by Charge D’ Affairs of the Philippine Embassy in Qatar, Cassandra B. Sawadjaan; Kulinarya Qatar Chairperson, Dahlia Agbanlog of JKCmom Catering; Vice Chairperson, Layla Bernal of Mezza Restaurant; and Anabelle Castro Modin of Pinoy Hotpack.
Also in attendance as part of the PFCTFQ core team were former United Filipino Organizations in Qatar (UFOQ) Chairman, Ed Anami; Association of Filipino Realtors & Entrepreneur Executives (AFREEQ) Chairman, Joseph Timothy Rivera of Uno Café; and Megaworld International Vice President for Sales Beverly Asperilla as well as local Filipino model Jaye Cabañero. It was also attended by Cultural Attache Jill Del Rosario-Garduce and her incoming successor.
