Doha: Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) has announced that works to complete construction of Sidra Medical and Research Center, located in Education City, have been awarded to a joint venture between Midmac, and Consolidated Contractors Group SAL (Offshore).
The two companies, which hope to benefit from the experience of the subcontractor companies that had been working on this project, are expected to begin work at the site immediately, QF said in a press release issued yesterday.
On Tuesday, QF had announced that it had terminated the contract for design and construction of the Sidra facilities, which was awarded in 2008 to the OHL International/Contrack (Cyprus) Ltd joint venture.
Sidra has three essential missions: world-class patient care, medical education and biomedical research. When completed, the Sidra facilities are expected to set new standards in patient care for women and children in Qatar.
