Paris--French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius will travel to Vienna on Saturday to take part in last-ditch talks on Iran's nuclear programme, an aide said Thursday.
Fabius will join in the talks ahead of a looming June 30 deadline to finalise an agreement with Iran, alongside representatives from Britain, China, Germany, Russia and the United States.
Iran and the "P5+1" group of major powers aim to finalise a historic agreement putting an Iranian nuclear bomb out of reach.
Several officials have said that the talks may be extended, but only by a few days.
On Wednesday, France met with officials from Iran's chief regional rival, Saudi Arabia, and said it would look into building two nuclear reactors in the kingdom.
World powers such as France and the United States have sought to reassure Saudi Arabia that it has not been abandoned by its Western allies despite their efforts at a rapprochement with Iran.
Fabius and French President Francois Hollande met with Saudi Defence Minister Prince Mohamed bin Salman in Paris where they signed a slew of energy and defence deals.
