Doha: Recommendations of the 38th Session of the World Heritage Committee have called for improving and developing standards, said Dr Fatima Hassan Al Sulaiti, Director, Archaeology and Heritage Sites, Qatar Museums and member of the Qatari delegation participating in the meeting.
The session said members should review recommendations and set a temporary agenda for 39th session in Bonn, Germany, in 2015.
On the sidelines of the meeting, she said participants in yesterday’s session nominated the Minister of State at the German Federal Foreign Office, Maria Boehmer, to chair the 39th session, in addition to five vice-presidents and selected the rapporteur from Lebanon.
Dr Al Sulaiti praised the 38th session, being organised by the Chair H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani.
She also praised Sheikha Al Mayassa’s role in managing the sessions and said the Qatari delegation presenting amendments to a set of draft resolutions discussed and approved during the session.
