Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) urged motorists to exercise increased caution while driving in rainy weather, highlighting key safety measures to reduce the risk of accidents on the roads.
The Ministry stressed the importance of reducing speed and avoiding overtaking, noting that wet road conditions can significantly affect vehicle control and braking distance.
Drivers are also advised to maintain a safe following distance to prevent rear-end collisions, particularly during sudden stops or reduced visibility.
The MoI further emphasised the need to use windshield wipers properly to ensure clear visibility, while urging motorists to apply brakes gradually rather than abruptly to avoid skidding.
In addition, the Ministry warned against underestimating water puddles, cautioning that they may conceal deeper hazards and should not be tested or crossed without certainty.
