DOHA: More than 120,000 visitors attended the fifth annual Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) which concluded on Sunday at Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park.
They treated themselves at 55 food stalls while enjoying numerous family-friendly entertainment options, including shows featuring break dancers Pizzaioli, Delicious Food Comic Korean Chefs Nan-ta and the Chefs’ Parade.
Many also enjoyed unique dining experiences, including Dinner in the Sky, the BBQ Donut and Dinner on a Dhow.
The Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre kept foodies entertained with demonstrations by TV Chef Ramzi Choueiri, Chef Aysha Al Tamimi and others.
Thousands of social media users across Qatar took to Instagram, Twitter and Facebook to share fun at the festival.
Organisers Qatar Airways and Qatar Tourism Authority conducted social media contests on Instagram and Twitter which were an instant hit.
Entrants were encouraged to share photos of the festival on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #QIFF2014.
Abdulaziz Al Ajail won the first prize of two Qatar Airways round trip tickets to Brazil.
Um Sara, the second prize winner, won 100,000 Privilege Club Qmiles and six tickets to Dinner in the Sky.
Mohamed Nageeb won the third prize of 75,000 Qmiles and four tickets to Dinner in the Sky.
The hashtag #QIFF2014 had been very during the four days of the festival, garnering more than 934 mentions on Twitter.
More than 1,150 photos from the exhibition have been submitted to the Instagram contest and more than 2.5 million users were reached among Twitter users, mentioning Qatar Airways, including retweets/replies, during the festival.The Peninsula
