Doha: The General Directorate of Traffic, represented by the Department of Patrols and the Traffic Investigation Department, has seized a number of vehicles driven without license plates on Salwa Road.
According to a post on the Department's Twitter handle on Saturday, the vehicles have been impounded and legal measures have been taken against their drivers.
"The General Directorate of Traffic calls on all drivers to abide by the Traffic Law and its implementing regulations," the tweet added.
According to Qatari laws, driving without a license plate attracts a minimum QR3000 fine and three points.
Loss or damage to a vehicle's license plate must be reported to the Traffic Department as soon as possible, and any loss or damage outside Qatar should be reported to the closest Qatari diplomatic mission.
