Doha: Ooredoo, in partnership with Netgear, announced yesterday the launch of an advanced MESH Wi-Fi system for Qatar, as the company continues to invest in the latest technology to enable their customers to truly enjoy the internet.
The Netgear MESH Orbi Tri-band Wi-Fi system, a CES Innovation Awards Honoree, has been designed to provide high-bandwidth and Wi-Fi coverage throughout every corner of a home and is the world’s first MESH networking system to leverage Netgear’s patented FastLane3 technology that has the unique capability of providing a dedicated wireless channel between the Orbi router and each Orbi satellite.
Ooredoo is the first service provider in the Middle East region to offer MESH Wi-Fi for consumers. “Ooredoo is proud to work with Netgear to be the first in-region to offer such an advanced combination of technologies to our customers, enabling the fastest broadband Wi-Fi signal through a single network,” said Manar Khalifa Al Muraikhi, Ooredoo Director of PR and Corporate Communications.
“Thanks to the combination of the Ooredoo Fibre service and the Netgear Orbi Tri-band Wi-Fi system, customers can enjoy more network coverage than any stand-alone router on the market, so whether you’re in the Majlis or any where around the house, you’ll be connected to the Supernet at all times, so you can truly enjoy the internet,” she added.
Henning Rogren, Netgear VP and Managing Director of Service Providers for the EMEA region, said: “Netgear is very honoured to be working with Ooredoo to provide their customers with mesh networking capabilities for the Ooredoo Fibre service. The Orbi Tri-band Wi-Fi has been a tremendous success in delivering unsurpassed Wi-Fi performance to customers worldwide and we are excited to now extend it to the Ooredoo Fibre service in Qatar.”
